"Florida Ridge is a census-designated place (CDP) in Indian River County, Florida, United States. The population was 18,164 at the 2010 census. Florida Ridge is part of the Sebastian-Vero Beach Metropolitan Statistical Area. Geography Florida Ridge is located at (27.574529, -80.391685). According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of , of which is land and (14.15%) is water. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there were 15,217 people, 6,412 households, and 4,437 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 1,409.3 people per square mile (544.0/km2). There were 7,330 housing units at an average density of 678.9/sq mi (262.0/km2). The racial makeup of the CDP was 85.54% White, 11.10% African American, 0.19% Native American, 0.68% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, 0.99% from other races, and 1.49% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 4.07% of the population. There were 6,412 households, out of which 26.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.6% were married couples living together, 10.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 30.8% were non-families. 25.4% of all households were made up of individuals, and 15.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.37 and the average family size was 2.81. In the CDP, the population was spread out, with 22.6% under the age of 18, 6.0% from 18 to 24, 25.3% from 25 to 44, 20.0% from 45 to 64, and 26.1% who were 65 years of age or older. "Gifford () is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Indian River County, Florida, United States. It is part of the Sebastian-Vero Beach Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 9,590 at the 2010 census, up from 7,599 at the 2000 census. Gifford has a rich African American history. There are a number of pioneer families who are a permanent part of the fabric of Indian River County, most notably the Gipson (Gibson), Hudson, Sharpton, Lundy, Jackson, McGriff, Hart, York, Bryant, Mayes, Moore and Williams families. Geography Gifford is in eastern Indian River County, on the west side of the Indian River, a tidal channel. It is bordered to the south by Vero Beach, the county seat; to the north by Winter Beach; and to the east, across the Indian River, by Indian River Shores. U.S. Route 1 passes through the center of Gifford, leading north to Sebastian and south through Vero Beach to Fort Pierce. Interstate 95 at Exit 147 is west of Gifford. According to the United States Census Bureau, the Gifford CDP has a total area of , of which are land and , or 6.79%, are water. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there were 7,599 people, 3,036 households, and 1,897 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 1,078.1 people per square mile (416.2/km2). There were 3,595 housing units at an average density of 510.0/sq mi (196.9/km2). The racial makeup of the CDP was 38.70% White, 57.43% African American, 0.16% Native American, 0.25% Asian, 1.96% from other races, and 1.50% from two or more races. The median age was 40 years. For every 100 females, there were 84.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 80.3 males. History The Gifford Community Cultural & Resource Center (GCCRC) transformed the Historic Macedonia Church into the Gifford Historical Museum. The dedication was held on February 24th, 2018, 20 years to the date of the historic church restoration dedication project. "Windsor, formerly known as North Beach, is a gated community and census- designated place (CDP) on Orchid Island in Indian River County, Florida, United States. The population was 256 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Sebastian-Vero Beach Metropolitan Statistical Area. Geography Windsor is located in northeastern Indian River County at . It is bordered to the south by the town of Orchid, to the north by Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge, to the west by the Indian River Lagoon, and to the east by the Atlantic Ocean. Florida State Road A1A runs along the eastern side of the community, leading north to Melbourne Beach and south to Vero Beach. According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of , all of it recorded as land. Demographics As of the census of 2000, when the CDP was known as "North Beach", there were 243 people, 93 households, and 86 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 78.7 people per square mile (30.4/km). There were 199 housing units at an average density of 64.4/sq mi (24.9/km). The racial makeup of the CDP was 98.35% White, 0.41% African American, and 1.23% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.06% of the population. There were 93 households, out of which 32.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 84.9% were married couples living together, 7.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 6.5% were non-families. 6.5% of all households were made up of individuals, and 2.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.61 and the average family size was 2.66. In the CDP, the population was spread out, with 23.0% under the age of 18, 1.2% from 18 to 24, 16.9% from 25 to 44, 38.7% from 45 to 64, and 20.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 50 years. For every 100 females, there were 104.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.8 males. The median income for a household in the CDP was $70,417, and the median income for a family was $70,417. Males had a median income of $43,750 versus $0 for females.
